About Lamareon James
Lamareon quickly established himself as one of the most explosive players in college football. Last season, as a true freshman he returned 18 kickoffs for 529 yards for a 29.4 yard average, ranking 9th in the country.
He also had two 100 yard kickoff return touchdowns, including the opening kickoff in the Myrtle Beach Bowl against Tulsa. It was the first opening kickoff for a touchdown in ODU football history.
"Scud" James, as he's known among fans, went on to earn Conference USA Honorable Mention, as well as Phil Steele Second-Team All-Conference USA at kick returner.
Before deciding to commit to his hometown ODU Monarchs, James was ranked as the No. 3 recruit in Hampton Roads by the Virginian Pilot. He was a two-time First-Team All-Tidewater selection, and selected First-Team All-Region respectively.
The Norfolk, Virginia native Caught 24 passes for 681 yards and rushed for 475 yards and 10 touchdowns as a senior. He also recorded five interceptions and returned two for touchdowns. Also ranked the No. 7 ranked recruit in Virginia by Rivals.
